And thanks to Weird Mob, we can stop wondering what the 60′s interpretation of the post-millennial sci-fi scene would’ve sounded like. Because I’m sure it would have sounded exactly like this…</p> <p>They’ve taken a lo-fi indie rock sound and colored it with a childlike imagination. The synth leads are unforgivingly cheesy and the lyrics are as witty as ever. It’s great. Weird Mob is predominantly indie rock, but a spectrum of influences can be heard in their music: The electronic arrangements, for example, sound very new wave-ish in nature. And some of the melodies in their music sound like they could be from something the Beatles had written. I imagine it must be a difficult thing to achieve as a musician, but they’ve has captured the retro vibe without sacrificing modern taste or production.</p> <p>Considering their caliber of music, Weird Mob has received very little acknowledgment in the music world.
